Summer Youth Intern

Term of Internship: May-August 2026

Purpose: The Youth Intern is responsible to work with students, alongside volunteers, to show them God’s love, teach them God’s Word, and provide fellowship with God’s people – so they may follow Jesus and grow in discipleship.

School Grade Range: Grade 6-12

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Work cooperatively with all staff and volunteers 
  • Coordinate and lead Sunday Morning Bible Study and Wednesday night gathering
  • Plan one-time events including summer camp./Build appropriate relationship with youth and be there for them for prayer, support, and discipleship
  • Maintain regular communication with parents of youth
  • Attend weekly Staff meetings
  • Communicate the needs of the youth program to other staff and church leaders
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor that contribute to the administration and life of the Church
  • Accommodate flexible working hours to including evenings and occasional Saturdays

Accountability: Supervision – Pastor

Personal Qualifications: 

  • Has a personal, active, and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ
  • Energetic, warm, and able to share the love of Jesus to youth and their families
  • Is comfortable visiting with church families
  • Able to balance work and family
  • Physically capable of sustained activity
  • Adhere to South Park Church’s Social Media Policy
Professional Qualifications: 

  • Will participate in Ministry Safe Training
  • Will become CPR/First Aid certified
  • Background Check
  • Uphold South Park Church’s By-Laws and Polices (Youth, Child, and Safety)

Work Schedule: 

30 hours/week paid position

Work Onsite:

Each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday

Worship Leader

South Park Baptist Church in Alvin, TX is proud to welcome a vibrant new leader onto our team to help lead our weekly worship experience. We are a congregation who spans four generations and loves to worship in a way that takes advantage of creative new songs as well as the rich tradition of hymns set to contemporary instrumentation.

The duties of the Worship Pastor entail:
  • Planning Sunday morning worship services 
  • Recruiting and working with new worship team members
  • Researching and introducing new songs
  • Rehearsing with the worship team (currently on Sunday morning)
  • Leading worship on Sunday mornings
  • Leading worship for the Tuesday night young adult gatherings
  • Leading worship for youth services on Wednesday nights
  • Overseeing the tech team 
  • Keeping up with the church’s audio/visual needs
  • Setting the slides in Pro Presenter for the Sunday Morning Service
  • Assist in planning/participating in the occasional special event at church
  • Coordinate with the choir director (the choir currently sings up to 10 times a year)
  • Coordinate with the children’s music program (they currently sing 2-3 times a year)
Other duties include:
  • Attending weekly Staff meetings
  • Participating in the annual budget process.
  • Being available to perform all ministerial duties such as Baptism, Lord’s Supper, teaching, and hospital visitation, when needed
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Pastor that contribute to the administration and life of the Church
